Light Up Sacramento
April 10, 2024
Sierra Donor Services recently joined together with donor families, recipients and ambassadors to honor local donor heroes. In celebration of Blue and Green Day and National Donate Life Month, families gathered at Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary to light up its columns in the Donate Life colors of blue and green to honor organ, eye and tissue donors.
Highlights from the evening included:
-
Dwayne Wilson, a heart transplant recipient, expressed profound gratitude for his donor, and Monte Leighton of Mount Vernon shared the story of his brother who was a marathon runner prior to becoming a donor hero.
-
Sacramento County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy rounded out the evening with a proclamation in honor of Donate Life Month.
Thank you to everyone for joining us for this heartwarming celebration of life!
