Sierra Donor Services reflects on their lifesaving achievements in 2023

In 2023, Sierra Donor Services reached incredible heights in organ and tissue donation and transplantation. This past year we celebrated the impact of 171 donor heroes who made 442 transplants possible in 2023. We also celebrated 806 Tissue Donors with a record 561 Musculoskeletal Donors and 91 Heart Valve Donors. Our amazing Birth Tissue team was able to receive 316 birth tissue donations this past year and through our Aftercare program we were able to help 1182 families through our Grief Coach services.
This is an incredible achievement and would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone at SDS. We are so excited to see what this year will hold, and cannot wait to help save even more lives in 2024.
More than 100,000 Americans are awaiting a life-saving organ transplant, despite an average of 110 people receiving a transplant each day in the U.S. The SDS team works tirelessly to save lives for the more than 20,000 Californians currently on the organ transplant waitlist.
