Sierra Donor Services launches first outdoor ad campaign inspiring communities of color
August 15, 2025

Sierra Donor Services has taken a bold new step to reach more people where they live, work, and commute. The newly launched outdoor advertising campaign targets zip codes with large concentrations of people of color, aiming to spark life-changing conversations about organ, eye and tissue donation.
At the heart of the campaign are real, local voices: donor family members Jess and Teresa Chairez—whose story of loss and generosity has touched many—and two SDS Ambassadors currently on the kidney wait list. By featuring both those who have given and those still waiting, the campaign reminds us all of the power of saying “yes” to donation.
To ensure we connect with as many people as possible, the ads run in both English and Spanish. You’ll see them on exterior bus shelters and benches, as well as posters inside buses traveling throughout targeted routes in Sacramento. This effort marks the first outdoor advertising campaign for Sierra Donor Services in recent history.
The campaign will run over the next month, leading up to the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. We hope it inspires families to talk openly about their wishes—and to register as donors.
If you’re in Sacramento, keep an eye out for our shelters, benches, and bus posters. Together, we can grow the conversation and save more lives.
