Sierra Donor Services Honors Donor Heroes at 2024 Locks of Legacy Event

August 19, 2024

Sierra Donor Services held its annual Locks of Legacy event on August 10, 2024 to honor the legacies of organ, eye and tissue donor heroes in our region.

Sierra Donor Services staff, hospital partners, donor families and transplant recipients came together to share their experiences with donation and transplantation for an inspirational remembrance ceremony. Donor families had the opportunity to share photos, write loving messages about their donor heroes and see their loved one’s engraved lock, which will be displayed in front of our office as a testament to their lifesaving legacy.

We had a wonderful group of speakers for the afternoon, including…

  • Michael Coleman, Sierra Donor Services External Affairs Director
  • Chaplain Lisa West, California Chaplain Corps
  • Michele Rosdahl, Sierra Donor Services Aftercare Manager
  • Emma Payne, Help Texts CEO
  • Denise and Peter Mayberry, parents of donor hero, Grace Mayberry
  • Melissa Blevins, UC Davis Transplant Center Executive Director
  • Stephen Kellett, heart valve recipient, and his sister, Diana Ferreira
  • Dwayne Wilson, heart transplant recipient
  • Michael Clay, Sierra Donor Services Family Services Director
  • Breann Stone, Sierra Donor Services In-house Recovery Coordinator
  • Davan Jones, liver transplant recipient
  • Jess and Theresa Chairez, parents of donor hero, Joseph Chairez
