Sierra Donor Services Celebrates Diversity at 12th Annual Elk Grove Multicultural Festival
September 19, 2024
Sierra Donor Services was excited to return to spread the message of organ, eye and tissue donation at the 12th Annual Elk Grove Multicultural Festival held at The Center at District 56!
The Elk Grove Multicultural Festival is held each year to give the community an event filled with a variety of diverse cultures, experiences and activities. More than 7,500 attendees had the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun activities, including…
- Embarking on a culinary adventure and sampling a wide variety of cuisines from around the world
- Watching captivating, energetic traditional dances, and enjoying a diverse range of musical performances showcasing the rich heritage and diversity of different cultures
- Admiring visually stunning artworks
- Supporting small businesses and organizations
At the Sierra Donor Services booth, Donate Life Ambassadors Elizabeth Arteaga-Novoa, heart and kidney recipient, and Earl Lovell, heart recipient, shared their transplant stories. We were also joined by the Philippine Nurses Association California Capital City (PNAC3), who helped us talk about the importance of donation and encourage donor registrations with QR code cards.
Visitors even had the opportunity to win branded swag by answering donation-related true or false questions!
A special thank you to our Donate Life Ambassadors for helping us staff the booth and raising awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation in our community!
