Roseville Donate Life Proclamation

April 8, 2024

Sierra Donor Services (SDS) received a proclamation from the City of Roseville last week in recognition of National Donate Life Month. It’s the first time that SDS has received a proclamation from the city of Roseville, and it is such an incredible honor.

Lorin Meeks-Harris, Leadership Roseville member and two-time kidney transplant recipient, also shared her story with the city council.
City councilmember Pauline Roccucci presented the proclamation. She’s the sister-in-law of Charleen Roccucci, a cornea recipient.
Sam Ramos, Executive Director of Sierra Eye Bank and a Roseville resident, received the proclamation on behalf of SDS.

Each April, Donate Life America leads National Donate Life Month, an observance focusing national attention on the need and importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. National Donate Life Month is about the importance of registering your decision to be a donor, honoring deceased and living donors, and celebraitng the lives they saved.

There are over 110,000 men, women and children on the waiting list for organ transplantation in the United States, with over 23,000 Californians on the transplant waitlist and over 700 in Nevada.

SDS thanks the city of Roseville for issuing a proclamation recognizing April as Donate Life Month. Through public education efforts to increase organ donation such as this proclamation, thousands of lives can be saved and enhanced.
