Honoring Disability Pride Month
July 1, 2025

July is Disability Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the strength, resilience, and diverse contributions of people with disabilities. At Sierra Donor Services, we believe in honoring every individual’s story—because every life is powerful, and every voice matters.
Stories of strength, advocacy, and the gift of life
We are proud to honor the stories of donors and recipients in the disability community whose legacies continue to make a difference.
Mason Renner
Born with Pfeiffer syndrome, Mason Renner was only 1 year old when she saved lives as a donor hero on June 21, 2023.
By donating her kidneys and two heart valves, she gave a second chance to those waiting for lifesaving transplants. 💙💚
“I can’t describe how it feels knowing a family woke up this morning with hope because of our Masey girl. Organ donation was never even a question for us… Mason’s sweet heart will live on.” ~ Natalie Renner, Mason’s mother

Stephen Kellett
#DidYouKnow approximately half of all infants born with Down syndrome have a heart defect that often need heart valve transplants to survive?
Stephen Kellett was among those infants whose life was saved thanks to a selfless donor hero. 💙💚
31 years later, Stephen continues to enjoy his favorite things in life like cooking, gardening, dressing up for Halloween, watching the newest superhero movies, shopping, hanging out with friends and being a Donate Life Ambassador.
“Our family is eternally grateful to the family of his valve donor. Their generosity gave Stephen a chance at life, and we’re forever and ever indebted to them.” ~ Diana Ferreira, Stephen’s sister
Nam Dang
The late Nam Dang was born with spina bifida, a condition that required him to use a wheelchair throughout his life.
As a child, Nam’s health challenges included kidney failure, but his father selflessly saved his life by giving him a kidney as a living donor.
With his second chance at life, Nam went on to become a respected leader in his fraternity and a passionate advocate for disability rights, dedicating years to empowering young people with disabilities before his passing in 2014.

Nathan Streeter
31-year-old Nathan Streeter became a donor hero on March 31, 2021, saving two lives by donating his kidney and liver. 💙💚
Nathan was born with cerebral palsy, but his diagnosis did not stop him from filmmaking, playing baseball and having books read to him.
He was a sensitive and loving man whose intellect, humor, and creativity touched everyone he met.
“Nathan defied the odds, living life to the fullest. And now, because of Nathan’s gifts, two other people can do the same.” ~Steve Streeter, Nathan’s father
Disability Pride Month is more than a celebration; it’s a movement of visibility, empowerment and the breaking down of barriers. It also allows us to listen, learn, and reflect on how we can better support and include people with disabilities in every part of our mission, including organ, eye and tissue donation.
Everyone can save lives. Register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor today!
