Former Sacramento Kings Player Scot Pollard Promotes Organ Donation
December 12, 2024
Former Sacramento Kings player Scot Pollard received a lifesaving heart transplant in February 2024.
Former Sacramento Kings player, Scot Pollard, has teamed up with Sierra Donor Services to raise awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. In his heartfelt video message, Pollard shares his experience as a transplant recipient and urges viewers to register to become an organ and tissue donor.
In an eleven-year NBA career, Pollard played for five teams, spending the bulk of his career with the Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers, where he was considered a fan favorite. Pollard and his family have always been engaged in community work, and now he is passionate about encouraging people to save lives as organ, eye and tissue donors.
“Although it has been decades since Scot Pollard played for the Kings, Sacramento has not forgotten him. We are excited to have his support, especially since he received a transplant himself. He’s personally connected to how important organ donation is.” ~Sean Van Slyck, Sierra Donor Services Executive Director
A Message for Scot Pollard
Shortly after Scot received his lifesaving transplant, several Donate Life Ambassadors and fellow heart recipients from across the Sacramento area came together to film a video welcoming Scot into the transplant family!
Two of those heart recipients, Lacey Felder and Dwayne Wilson, joined FOX40 to present the video to Scot while he was in recovery.
