Celebrating Donate Life Month Across the Region
May 3, 2024
Every year, Sierra Donor Services observes National Donate Life Month as a time to honor organ and tissue donor heroes, celebrate lifesaving transplants, recognize the more than 100,000 people in the US who are still waiting and encourage everyone to register as organ, eye and tissue donors through DonateLifeCalifornia.org.
This year we had the honor of receiving proclamations from 11 cities and counties, acknowledging the need for more registered donors:
- Sacramento County – Presented by Supervisor Patrick Kennedy at our Light Up! Sacramento event on April 2.
- Yuba County – Presented by Supervisor Don Blaser.
- Placer County – Presented by Supervisor Suzanne Jones.
- Yolo County – Presented by Supervisor Oscar Villegas.
- City of Roseville – Presented by Councilmember Pauline Roccucci.
- City of Davis – Presented by Mayor Josh Chapman.
- Town of Truckee – Presented by Mayor Dave Polivy.
- City of Elk Grove – Presented by Councilmember Kevin Spease.
- City of Rancho Cordova – Presented at Rancho Cordova Little League by Councilmember Garrett Gatewood.
- City of West Sacramento – Presented at Sierra Donor Services by Councilmember Verna Sulpizio-Hull.
- City of Sacramento – Signed by Mayor Darrell Steinberg.
