Sierra California Communities Proclaim April as Donate Life Month

During the month of April, the spirit of renewed life was powerfully embraced in the Sierra California region through the recognition of Donate Life Month. Counties and cities throughout northern California stepped forward this April to issue official proclamations honoring the generosity of organ and tissue donors and encouraging residents to register as lifesaving donors.
From Roseville to Davis City, leaders gathered with donor recipients, donor hero families, Sierra Donor Services staff and supporters of organ donation to officially recognize April as National Donate Life Month. Observed every April, Donate Life Month is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. It is a time to honor donors, celebrate recipients, and recognize the ongoing need for registered donors.
During many of these proclamations, leaders highlighted the staggering statistics: over 100,000 people are currently waiting for a transplant in the United States. In California alone, roughly 20,000 individuals await life-saving transplants, underscoring the vital importance of donor registration. The sharing of stories helps to bring hope and put faces to the numbers to remind us that donation is not just a medical act—it’s a deeply selfless, human one.
