Sierra Donor Services Looks Back on Community Engagement in October

October was a busy month for Sierra Donor Services! We had an incredible time engaging with the community about organ, eye and tissue donation at a variety of events this month.
Learn about some of our highlights below!
October 5th – Health Education Council’s Community Fair
We were honored to join the Health Education Council for their Community Fair in the Robla neighborhood in North Sac!
Attendees had the opportunity to learn about healthy living practices, receive vital screenings and flu shots and participate in a 10K/1K walk to stay active.
October 19th – Sacramento State Homecoming Festival
Sac State‘s Homecoming Festival included live music and entertainment, fun tailgate competitions with prizes, an interactive Kids Zone and so much more!
It was a great opportunity to increase awareness and visibility for our lifesaving work and build our relationship with the Sacramento State Alumni Association.
October 26th – Día de Los Muertos Event
Sol Collective‘s Souls of the City has brought the Día de Los Muertos celebration to life in Old Sacramento since 2012!
They were back this year with vendors, a procession, live music, and family-friendly activities to celebrate the memory of those we’ve lost.
October 27th – Auburn Community Health Fair
Partnering with Latino Leadership Council, Sierra Donor Services attended the Community Health Fair in Auburn.
This educational event aimed to provide local resources and information on how to care for your health and embrace an active lifestyle.
