October 9, 1989 – October 22, 2000
Trey, our only child, was the light of our lives. He fulfilled our dreams that he would grow up to be a kind person. In his eleven years, he was respected by his peers and acknowledged by adults for being an exceptionally friendly and kind person. He was bright and intensely interested in the world around him. He loved basketball and showed talent as a poet. He was a developing leader and seriously pursued his responsibilities on the student council.
He was taken from us in 2000, when a large, wind-loosened tree branch fell upon him as he played at a birthday party. We are so very grateful he was in our lives. It is our consolation that, if we had to lose him, he was able to save lives by his organ donation.
